Hey Pups!

This is the booth setup information I got today from NNJ Pride. I'm also including details of what I believe the say will be.

NORTH JERSEY PRIDE FESTIVAL

LOCATION

Memorial Park Amphitheater
145 Dunnell Road (across from Maplewood Train Station)
Maplewood, New Jersey

TIMING

8:30 AM - Vendor Check In Opens
11:00 AM - All Vehicles Must Be Out of Memorial Park
11:30 AM - All Vendor Set Up Must Be Complete
NOON - North Jersey Pride Festival Begins
6:00 PM - North Jersey Pride Festival Ends / Clean Up Begins

HLP BOOTH

We will have a tent covered 10'x10' booth with a couple tables and chairs, our flags, and 25 spools of colored rope for sale.
I also want to have handouts for people interested in pup play, and for parents.
Check-in location

SETUP & TAKE DOWN

• Because our setup is going to be big and bulky, Alpha Pup Kabous needs to be there when check-in opens at 8:30AM.
• Kabous should be able to bring the van close to our booth location only if we get there at 8:30, otherwise, everything will have to be carried from the van to the booth.
• The setup will take AT LEAST 2 pups
• Once the van is unloaded, the booth must have at least 1 pup there all day.
• We won't be able to move the van from the parking location to the booth after the Pridefest is over, so everything will have to be carried back to the van.
• They did not give us a time limit for the cleanup, but the park closes at dusk, which is 8:28PM.

TRANSPORTATION & PARKING

• If you need Kabous to drive you to the Pridefest, you'll need to be at HLP HQ by 7:30AM on Sunday morning, or you can just slumber at HLP HQ on Saturday night to make it easier on yourself.
• Anyone getting a ride from Kabous will have a very long day from 7:30am until returning to HLP HQ at 9:00pm or later. Plan accordingly.
• The Pridefest is right across from the Maplewood Station.
• On-street and lot parking fills up quickly.
• Street parking will be free throughout the day. Again, parking will grow increasingly limited as the day goes on, so please plan accordingly.

FOOD & DRINKS

• There will be bottles of water in the HLP booth for us.
• There will be a box of granola bars in the HLP booth for us, feel free to bring your own as well.
• There will be several food vendors at Pridefest.

WHAT TO WEAR & EXPECT

• This is a public, family-friendly event.
• You can wear gear over your street cloths.
• Hoods are encouraged, and they will most definitely be conversation starters.
• As we all know, there's a stigma that Humanpups are all about sex, this event will be a way for us to provide a different view to the public.
• People who talk to us will ask a lot of questions. Regardless of your level of experience, just be yourself and explain why you are a humanpup.
• I'd like to have handouts with some details about the non-sexual side of humanpup play.

WEATHER FORECAST

• The temp should be in the 78.
• Potential rain in the morning with scattered showers in the afternoon.

• Please volunteer with your registration. Use the notes field to let Kabous know what time you will be there on Sunday.

CALL FOR HELP WITH HANDOUTS

• As mentioned above, it would be good to have a handout to give to people.
• It would be good if we had 1 handout for parents and a different one to people interested in pup play
• Any one of you can submit full write-ups or content ideas for these handouts.
• Content idea for parents: Should I be worried if my child is interested in humanpup play? Potentially explain that humanpup play is used by many to help them handle the stress and anxiety they are feeling in their daily lives. Although teenagers can develop an interest in being a humanpup, HLP only allows members who are 18+. HLP creates a safe environment for humanpups and pets to get to know like-minded others.
• Content idea for those interested: Some crossover information that is on the parent handout. Potentially explain that humanpup play is used by many to help them handle the stress and anxiety they are feeling in their daily lives. Although teenagers can develop an interest in being a humanpup, HLP only allows members who are 18+. HLP creates a safe environment for humanpups and pets to get to know like-minded others.
• General idea: If you'd like to write a few sentences out to explain why you are interested in humanpup play, it will be added to the website and in the fliers.
