This board position is expected to contribute their knowledge and experience of Leather Culture to the continued development and improvement of education and public awareness campaigns produced by HLP. The Leather Rep is expected to organize workshops and demonstrations where attendees can learn about selecting and caring for leather clothing and other gear that has become synonymous with the culture and activities, and how such things have influenced other contemporary LGBTQ+ community identities and interests. This board member is also expected to organize social and educational events where HLP members and the public LGBTQ+ community can learn from others in the Leather Culture. This board member is expected to provide mentorship to younger board members and to HLP members seeking advice on the influence of kink related activities on life, especially on topics of respect between Identity groups, establishing an LGBTQ+ family of choice, and adult consensual activities.
