Human Pets Representative – Pet Rep

Qualifications:

The Corporation recognizes that the title of the office of the Pet Rep will carry an implied public perception of higher rank on the Board of Representatives for the Home for Lost Pups. The member running for election to the office of Pet Rep must be aware that they will serve as a role model for a large number of other pet players, including those from other HLP designated Identity Groups and for the LGBTQ+ community as a whole. Therefore, the qualifications for Pet Rep have higher standards than the other Identity Groups in order to meet the expected demands as a role model and of this office. Although the Corporation recognizes that one's identity as a Human Pet does not require ownership of a mask/hood or any gear, HLP stipulates the first qualification for office of the Pet Rep as ownership of a pet hood/mask and all of the associated gear which portrays their Human Pet Identity. The Corporation affirms that, in order for the Pet Rep to be a role model for the Pet Play community they need to be well versed in LGBTQ+ issues, experience in the community that HLP serves, and life experience from which to draw from. HLP stipulates the second qualification to be the minimum age of 30 years old, although the Election Nomination Committee can drop the age qualification if the member has a proven record of leadership and experience. The third qualification is to have a range of cross-disciplinary experiences of activities that are common to the LGBTQ+ community and with the other HLP Identity Groups. These Bylaws shall not establish a specific range of activity experiences, instead, the Election Nomination Committee will be responsible such determination. However, the merits of qualification shall be based on activity experiences only, without any regard for gender, gender identity, body type, or sexual identity. Example include, but are not limited to, bondage/BDSM, LGBTQ+ activism, pack/family dynamics, social media participation and concerns, event participation, and visibility as a Human Pet among the members.
